Vintage report
After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on September 13. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the white wines are well-balanced, precise and refreshing.

Vintage report
After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature and a summer like weather spring, A sudden and intense frost fell upon Burgundy early April and severely hit the buds that had formed on the vine. The months that followed were a succesion of rainy and warm episodes. During summer there were warm and humid periods and the harvest started at Chanson on September 15, under a bright sunshine. The red wines have a good colour. They give off floral fragrances and a beautiful fruit expression but the volumes produced are quite low.

Vintage report
After a very mild winter, spring arrived with warm temperatures in March which engendered a very quick and sustained growth of the vines. After a very short frost episode early May with no consequence in the vineyards, a mild weather with some rains settled down until end of June. Summer was punctuated in July by several and quite long heat waves. Vineyards with a clay soil were less affected by the low level of rainfalls during spring and by the summer heat. The harvest in Burgundy started around August 20, which was historically early for the region. At Chanson, they started on August 24 under a bright sunshine. 2020 red wines are generous, concentrated and beautifully terroir-driven.

Vintage report
After a classic winter, spring settled down with warm temperatures but a cool weather in April slackened down the evolution of the vines. May was rainy and was followed by a warm summer with heat waves. However, a few thunderstorms episodes brought enough rain to allow the maturation of the grapes to continue. The harvest started early september with an excellent sanitary level of the grapes. Vinification : whole bunch fermentation for approximately two weeks, the wines are then aged in our XVth century cellar for a period between 14 and 18 months. Moderate use of new oak.

Terroir
Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.3 hectares in premier Cru "Les Vergelesses". The plot is located in a hollow at the bottom of the hill of Corton and its clay and limestone soil combination gives wines with a specific structure.
Vintage report
Despite a rather cool and unsettled summer in 2014, the vines in Burgundy showed great adaptability to the changing conditions. Flowering proceeded well, but fruit development was slowed by a lack of sunshine in August. Fortunately, dry and sunny weather returned in early September, allowing for gradual and steady ripening. Harvesting began in late September under favorable conditions, with careful sorting to select only healthy, balanced grapes. Against expectations, the vintage produced elegant wines with fresh acidity and great aromatic precision.
Tasting
Garnet robe with pronounced brick hues. A complex, mature nose offering stewed red fruits, leather, blond tobacco, forest floor, and hints of truffle. The palate is smooth and harmonious, with fully integrated tannins and a silky texture. Long, subtle finish marked by tertiary notes of undergrowth, gentle spices, and a touch of balsamic.
Wine & food pairings
Grilled entrecôte, red meats, game and all regional cheeses (Brillat-Savarin, Epoisses, Citeaux, Langres).
