Vintage report
In 2024, a mild winter and a contrasting spring favored early bud break, despite a few episodes of frost. Spring and summer, marked by thunderstorms, heavy rains, and reduced sunshine, maintained high sanitary pressure. Despite these uncertainties, the vines were able to adapt and produce grapes that were sometimes uneven in ripeness but generally balanced. At Domaine Chanson, the harvest began on Wednesday, September 11 and ended on Saturday, September 21. It was a demanding and contrasting vintage, marked by significant climatic hazards, which required a great deal of work and skill on the part of the technical teams.

After a mild winter, beginning of spring was marked by unstable weather conditions, which fortunately enough settled down end May with warm and even very warm temperatures. This situation encouraged a rapid blossoming in excellent conditions. Spring ended with a water deficit which was never compensated. July and August were marked by a succession of very warm temperatures and storms. End of August, a very hot weather settled down with temperatures around 35°C which enabled the grapes to perfect their ripeness. At Chanson, the harvest started on September 5 and ended on September 16. The white wines are very expressive with beautiful aromas of pale fleshed fruit and an outstanding structure.

Vintage report
After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature between January and February, spring started with mild temperatures. A sequence of cold weather in April was followed by warm temperatures in May but the lack of water was very noticeable and could not be compensated by the rainy storms of June. Summer was marked by several and long heat waves and the storms of the end of August were most welcome. The harvest at Chanson started on August 30 with a team of 100 persons and ended on September 13. 2022 vintage was quite generous both in volume and quality and the white wines are well-balanced, precise and refreshing.

Terroir
On the hill in the heart of Côte Chalonnaise, the "terroirs" of Rully are perfectly suited for Chardonnay.
Vintage report
After a very mild winter, spring arrived with warm temperatures in March which engendered a very quick and sustained growth of the vines. After a very short frost episode early May with no consequence in the vineyards, a mild weather with some rains settled down until end of June. Summer was punctuated in July by several and quite long heat waves. Vineyards with a clay soil were less affected by the low level of rainfalls during spring and by the summer heat. The harvest in Burgundy started around August 20, which was historically early for the region. At Chanson, they started on August 24 under a bright sunshine. 2020 red wines are generous, concentrated and beautifully terroir-driven.

Vintage report
After a classic winter, spring settled down with warm temperatures but a cool weather in April slackened down the evolution of the vines. May was rainy and was followed by a warm summer with heat waves. However, a few thunderstorms episodes brought enough rain to allow the maturation of the grapes to continue. The harvest started early september with an excellent sanitary level of the grapes. Vinification : whole bunch fermentation for approximately two weeks, the wines are then aged in our XVth century cellar for a period between 14 and 18 months. Moderate use of new oak.
