Santenay Beauregard
1er Cru
2021
Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Clay and limestone with lots of stones
Site : Chanson owns 3 ha in this climat located in the Premiers Crus area of Santenay, small village in the South of the Côte de Beaune. The plot is at the top of the hill and is positioned on two levels. The large proportion of stones gives to the wine a very special minerality which emphasizes the typicality of the Pinot Noir.
The Vintage 2021 : After a winter characterized by marked variations in temperature and a summer like weather spring, A sudden and intense frost fell upon Burgundy early April and severely hit the buds that had formed on the vine. The months that followed were a succesion of rainy and warm episodes. During summer there were warm and humid periods and the harvest started at Chanson on September 15, under a bright sunshine. The red wines have a good colour. They give off floral fragrances and a beautiful fruit expression but the volumes produced are quite low.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense and delicate aromas of red berries (raspberry and strawberry) mixed with pepper on a hint of vanilla. Well-balanced and well-crafted. Refined and precise texture. Well integrated tannins. Long and refreshing aftertaste with a vanilla touch.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with roast meat or stew dishes as well as moderately nature cheeses.
