Grape Variety : Chardonnay
Soil : Marly limestone with clay
Site : In the northern part of village of Chassagne Montrachet. It is one of the most famous Grands Crus Chardonnay in Burgundy. It is located on a mid slope facing east, aside the famous Batard Montrachet.
The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak during 14 months.
Tasting : Bright gold colour. Floral fragrances mixed with aromas of citrus fruit, grilled hazelnut and honey with spicy nuances. Beautiful mineral note. Powerful, ample and generous. Deep and dense. Outstanding aromatic combination. Well-shaped minerality. Outstanding persistence.
Food pairing : Seafood, "foie gras”, fish in a creamy sauce, crayfish. Particularly great with a selection of French cheeses.
