Grape Variety : Pinot Noir
Soil : Marly limestone - rough limestone with silt of clay
Site : Chanson owns a vineyard of 5.4 hectares in premier Cru "Les Vergelesses". One of the plots of this vineyard has been selected to produce this Pernand-Vergelesses village.
The Vintage 2009 : After a cold winter and a beautiful spring, the hot summer was interrupted by stormy intervals which fortuitously took place when needed and thus facilitated growth and good maturation of the grapes. Harvest began early September with excellent weather conditions. Aging in oak casks during 19 Months.
Tasting : Bright ruby colour. Intense aromas of cooked small red berries mixed with spices and vanilla. Well-balanced. Beautiful texture. Very pure fruit. Finely grained tannins. Elegant oak. Long and generous aftertaste.
Food pairing : To be enjoyed with red or white meat, grilled or toasted, games or classic cheeses like goat.
